Orthotics is the field of medicine that designs and manufactures the artificial devices such as splints and braces. An orthotics is placed on the body to modify and correct functional and structural characteristics. Orthoses helps the patients suffering from disease or injuries. Orthotics supports foot which fit in your shoes to help your feet move more efficiently. They are made of rubber, leather, plastics or other material. The aim of orthotics is to balance the foot in a neutral position and cushion the foot. Orthotics is used for restricted movements, which eventually helps in reducing weight pressure and make body parts function with ease. There are two type of Orthotics and they are defined as: An off the Shelf orthotics and custom orthotics, that controls the movements of body parts. · Off the Shelf Orthotics These gives support to foot.
