Different Physiotherapy Treatment techniques

Physiotherapist is someone who helps people suffering from injuries, disease or neck & back pain. Therapy is aimed to relieve the pain and restoring body function, so that patients can return to their normal life. Every case is different; pain is different, so the treatment is also different. Physiotherapists have different technique for accessing the human body and helping in restoring it back to normal life.

Types of different techniques are:

·        Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a type of therapy which is performed using hands. This includes massage & manipulation. Massage is self-explanatory and manipulation involves applying pressure on joint to reduce pain.

·        Water Therapy

Water therapy uses water to treat a disease and to improve health conditions. This therapy is used to increase the blood flow.

·        Cold and Ice Therapy

Cold therapy use ice as ailment. In this therapy, ice is held close to or over the injured area of body. An ice helps in cool down vessel and reduces inflammation and increase the mobility.
This will take 20 minutes to heal. In this therapy cooling lotion or sprays are also used.

·        Heat Therapy

Heat Therapy uses heat to increase blood circulation in body. Heat relaxes the muscles and help in restoring the body function. This treatment should be used after regular intervals, because if it is used frequently, it can cause inflammation of injured area.

·        Exercise

Physiotherapy always involves exercise designed for injured area. Physiotherapist’s aim is to improve speed and to gain recovery through exercise. The exercise improves the flexibility, strength and endurance of patient.
