Common exercises to follow after Physiotherapy


Physiotherapy also know as physical therapy. It uses different physical methods such as massage, remedial exercise, cold & hot exercise to make patient pain free. Physiotherapy cope with pain, and restore person’s health and movement after injury. Physiotherapy uses innumerable techniques for the betterment of mobility and movement. To improve strength, exercise need to be done after Physiotherapy.

Some exercise needs to be followed after Physiotherapy:

1 Hand and Arm Exercise:
Move the hand, arm and wrist at full range of motion thrice a day. Lightly stretching the tight muscles and holding for few seconds will improve the flexibility.

2 Hip Movement:
Dislocated, fractured or an operated hip require functional training after therapy. Perform light hip motion chores like climbing steps, lifting things, bending down to touch your feet will improve the movement.

3 Ankle Exercise:
Ankles are the most stressed and overlooked body part.  Ankle and feet pain can be easily relived after adopting ankle exercise after therapy. Moving your ankles in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction will relax stress and overload from ankles.

4 Knee Exercise:
Knee is the most overloaded part of your body. Knee physiotherapy exercise are the most strenuous ones. Sit on a chair with ball underneath your feet. Roll it for few times, that will relax your knees.

5 Neck Exercise:
Neck exercise aim to relieve the additional pressure that you put on your neck during long work hours or when you get sudden jerk. Sitting on chair and moving your head to one side of shoulder to other till you feel your neck is stretched.

6 Back Exercise:
Back exercise relieves the pain even when physiotherapy is not performed.  Keep your leg straight, lie on your back and fold your leg knee close to chest. Hold the position and return to straight position will let your pain relief.

7 Foot Exercise:
Foot exercise includes writing number 1-10 with each foot. This will relax your foot.
